Urban Saints CEO, Matt Summerfield, is doing a webinar and our very own Gayla Congdon will be hosting it! It’ll be a great opportunity to learn about how Urban Saints is reaching youth and children and growing the church in England and how Energize can help you! You’ll have the chance to ask Matt about his work with Urban Saints and the state of ministry in England.
And most importantly – it’s free.
Here are the details:
When – Tuesday, January 31st at 4:30 PST
Working outside isn’t the best part, though it does feel good to swing a hammer and see the results of your labor.
Hanging out with the group isn’t the best part, though it is great to work with motivated volunteers.
Camping isn’t the best part, though it is great to sit around a campfire at night and see all those stars that you can’t see from the city. Even driving around in a truck listening to country music all day isn’t the best part of a house building trip.
The best part is getting to meet the family. The last two days on our worksite we’ve been blessed to hang out with Tyrone and his cousin, JR. The house is being built for Tyrone, his wife, and son; his cousin JR lives down the road and has come early each day to help out. They’ve both been out there beside the kids, digging, bending re-bar, and mixing concrete. Today I showed up early and ended up in a 90 minutes conversation with the two of them waiting for the group to arrive.
The best part of a house building trip is getting to spend time with the families, get to know their story, and involve them in the process of building their new home.
-Dave Gladson, from out in San Carlos on the Apache Reservation
There are over 150 people and a dozen staff members out in San Carlos working right now! Take 2 minutes right now and pray for them and the work that they are doing for the families and churches.
Kyle LePere of Fastforward.tv has come on over 10 trips with us over the years and has used his skills with video to document his church’s trips. I love this one because it really encompasses every aspect of an Amor trip – families, houses, laughing, building, friends, realizations about God and life.
